Brooks Alan Morton

Brooks Alan Morton, born October 12, 1961, passed away on April 5, 2026. He was the beloved son of Voris Monroe Morton and Betty Elaine Morton (Shaffer), and the cherished brother of Brian M. Morton and the late Kathleen E. Morton.

As a child, Brooks was an enthusiastic member of the Boy Scouts, ultimately achieving the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout. His love of history and heritage led him to participate in the Children of the American Revolution and, later in life, the Sons of the American Revolution.

Brooks pursued his education with dedication, earning both a Master’s degree and a law degree. He built a meaningful career as a program analyst in defense contracting, where he applied his intellect, discipline, and commitment to service.

A devoted member of Emory United Methodist Church in Old Ellicott City, Brooks formed lasting friendships and was a valued presence within the congregation. His kindness, curiosity, and steady warmth touched everyone who knew him.

Brooks will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.
