Boys and Girls Clubs of Washington County finalizes agreement to take over Glouster Club
MARIETTA – The Boys and Girls Clubs of Washington County finalized an agreement to acquire operations of the Boys and Girls Club of Glouster in Athens County this past week.
For the past two years, Boys and Girls Clubs of Parkersburg has provided leadership and support to the Glouster Club, helping ensure local youth had access to a safe, welcoming place to learn, grow, and build strong futures. That stewardship has strengthened the Club’s foundation and positioned it for continued success, according to a press release from the The Boys and Girls Club of Glouster.
The transition will begin immediately and will be fully in effect on June 1, 2026.
This transition reflects a shared commitment to keeping the Glouster Club strong and growing for the families it serves. Under the leadership of Boys and Girls Clubs of Washington County, the Club will continue to provide high-quality programs while building deeper connections across Athens County and the surrounding region.
Boys and Girls Club of Washington County Chief Executive Officer Justin Clark shared his appreciation and vision for the future.
“We are deeply grateful to Boys and Girls Clubs of Parkersburg for their outstanding leadership and care for the Glouster Club over the past two years,” he said. “Their dedication has made a lasting difference for young people in this community.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Washington County Board of Directors is proud to support this transition and the continued growth of the Club in Glouster, said Board President Kim Nohe.

The transition is designed to be seamless for Club members and families, with programs continuing without interruption, according to the press release adding community partners, families, and supporters can expect the same welcoming environment, trusted staff, and focus on helping youth succeed in school, develop leadership skills, and lead healthy lives.
