Jimmy Carrano, owner of Jimmy Avocado's, hands Ray Ulmer of Marietta some food Tuesday from the Jimmy Avocado's food truck in the parking lot at Consumer Credit Counseling Service of the Mid-Ohio Valley on Dudley Ave. as part of supporting activities for the Give Local MOV campaign Tuesday, the Mid-Ohio Valley’s largest day of giving. Ulmer is part of the Board of Directors at the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of the Mid-Ohio Valley. Hosted by the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation, the annual Give Local MOV event continues to grow in both participation and impact, organizers said. In 2025, Give Local MOV raised a record $531,385 in a single day. Organizers expected strong engagement again this year, with approximately 60 nonprofit organizations participating across the region. More than $200,000 in matching funds and prize incentives will be available during the 2026 campaign. Each participating nonprofit has been allocated a portion of the Stretch Pool, allowing eligible online donations made on May 5 to be matched dollar-for-dollar up to the organization’s designated amount. Any unused matching funds will be redistributed proportionally to organizations that exceed their initial allocation, ensuring that all available funds directly benefit participating nonprofits. Donors may also contribute directly to the Stretch Pool, with those funds distributed evenly among all participating organizations. As of 2 p.m. Tuesday, the campaign raised over $280,000, organizers said. (Photo by Brett Dunlap)
