PARKERSBURG – Kanawha Elementary School and Integrated Health Centers of West Virginia this week formalized a Partner In Education agreement.
The partnership with Kanawha Elementary allows Integrated Health Centers to bring its mission of whole-person care directly to the Davisville community, ensuring that high-quality health resources are accessible without families having to leave the school campus.
“Research continues to show there is a strong link between health disparities and educational outcomes,” said Amy Yokum, CEO of Integrated Health Centers. “With this partnership, we are helping Kanawha Elementary and its students pursue academic excellence by ensuring they have the health support they need to succeed.”
The partnership is less about a logo on a banner and more about a lifeline for its students.
“Integrated Services is now an essential pillar in how we support the ‘whole child’ at our school,” said Stephanie Agee, principal of Kanawha Elementary. “By providing services directly within our building, they have removed barriers for our families and created an environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive–academically, socially, and emotionally.”
Partner in Education is a program of the Chamber of Commerce of the Mid-Ohio Valley.
“When a community leader like IHCWV steps into a school like Kanawha, they aren’t just helping children today; they are investing in the health of our future workforce,” Jill Parsons, chamber CEO, said. “This partnership is a blueprint for how local expertise can solve local challenges.”
