Parkersburg Post 15 triumphant over Clarksburg

CLARKSBURG — Parkersburg Post 15 was victorious over Clarksburg Post 13 by a score of 6-1 on Tuesday.

Eli Davis pitched five innings for Parkersburg, working around seven walks to earn the win. He allowed just one run on two hits and struck out five batters. CJ McCartney pitched the final two innings. He fanned two batters and did allow a hit or issue a free pass.

McCartney, Davis and Wyatt Boice drove in a run apiece in the third inning to stake Post 15 to a 3-0 lead.

Post 15 added three more runs in the fifth, with Cam Cumpston bringing in a pair of runs on a two-run triple and Boice adding another RBI to make it 6-0.

Gabe Ferrell drove in a run for Clarksburg to cut it to 6-1 in the bottom of the fifth, but that was all the damage Post 13 could muster.

Clarksburg starting pitcher Dom Bombardiere lasted three innings, allowing three runs, two hits and a walk.

Parkersburg improved to 3-3 and will play host to Ritchie County at 6 p.m. Wednesday
